who'd have thought
that among winters' captives
a tiny spark of everything
would flower in passion
though rankled and wrangled and reposed
like the lovers' promise
to remain eternal?
not me

I am not sure why you are surprised at such a thing? The lovers' promise to remain eternal is not always rankled, wrangled and reposed. This... I do know for sure.
After suffering through such a cold, long and depressing winter it is only when we see the fruition of what spring/summer brings to us that we realize how those tiny sparks "flower in passion"... I love how you captured that here. Hopefully I did not misinterpret one of your enigmatic thoughts you sometimes use in your poetry.
Also, I find this extremely fitting that you wrote this yesterday. Isn't Victoria Day also a day that Canadians celebrate as sort of a "kick off" to Summer?
Lastly, it's been so long since you wrote a poem, or at least posted one here. I must say it was well worth the wait. You are amazing, as always. Thank you for sharing this so much.
my meagre 31 words were returned fivefold, 155 of yours! i obviously get back more than i give. you're my greatest fan, in fact my only one :D you even get me ;)
I don't know if any of what you said above is true, but what I do know for sure is that I am, indeed, your greatest fan :)
