when i was a child
i thought the moon was the sun turned off
but when i saw the moon floating on the water
and the sun drowning in the sea
i knew i was fooled.
i've tried to float and nearly drowned
so perhaps i'm neither like the sun nor the moon
more like the stars
and, as an adult, i know they wink when i blink
and blink when i wink
and there they go
not because it's dark
but because it's light
up all night, i'll not be fooled again

Oh, Peter. I don't think you were ever fooled. The world can be so cruel, whether it be by the blinding sun in the day or what seems to be the never-ending dark at night. You're far from a fool or being fooled, though. At least that is what I've come to know of you... <3
I'll stay up all night with you, whenever you want, if you want... to make sure it is so. xo
just a bit of whimsey. not sure if you mean the same as i do staying up all night, i'm no fool ;)
