what is a scar
but a break in the flesh
or a break in the heart
that once held beauty
and now binds
it's a sign
that forever what purpose
or deed or thought or action
created
is healed
and it's love
that sees beauty revived
as time reveals

Not all who see scars see the love or beauty revived. Most see scars and are frightened and run away. Only someone who knows what is behind the binding, the deed, thought or action, someone trusted enough to know not to be afraid might be able to see the beauty in them. That, however, is rare and if we are lucky enough, we might be able to find someone like that once in a lifetime, if ever.
if it's rare, that's their problem, not the scarred.
Of course that may be true, but in the mean time, the scarred could live a very lonely life which sometimes leaves new wounds, new scars. Vicious cycle.
