the pale moon in the window
drifts like a love poem
toward you in the night
and i wonder
if it filters through your curtains
while you sleep
your beautiful eyes closed
yet sensing the soft glow
keeping you warm and safe
as i remain a silhouette on the horizon
disappearing with the morning light
just a blink away

Thanks for sharing Peter, I really enjoyed this! Your words are very tender. My favorite lines are the opening lines
the pale moon in the window
drifts like a love poem
I love, love, love this. Christine hit the nail on the head when she said your words are very tender. That is how I felt when I read it, also. I love anything written under a moon. It is always magical and can carry you anywhere on the earth. Lovely writing, Peter.
An ethereal breath exhaled into a
poem. One of the most beautiful,
surreal love poems I have read
in the last serveral years.
Your words float I feel the love
and the safety an unwavering love
like this brings to one.
Ohhhh.
Rebecca directed me to your page and I'm glad she did. I like this, it radiates the power of the moon's glow, yet you've captured the softness of the moonlight in your words.
As I read this, I could not help but sense the longing of a person to be with the one they love...
Nicely done.
This is still my favourite poem you ever wrote. Whenever I need to feel protected, I read this and it is so. <3 xox
