we hold on

we hold on, so beautifully
the air sweet soft and clear
in golden fields we peer into eternity
the sun caught in angular mirrors
life strives to a silent singer
resonant and gallantly fair
hands reach out for each other
though singed by fires of despair
lovers embrace and rediscover
like heroes back from the war
hold tight that promise of wonder
and of time, sweet time, to explore

"lovers embrace and rediscover like heroes back from the war"

I loved the rhyme and rhythm to this, Peter. Two lovers holding on not only to nature's beauty but to each other's and then feeling the promise of wonder from it, while finding the sweet time to explore .

I can only dream of such wonder and exploring like this... *sigh*

How is it that you write this type of ethereal poetry all the time and then each one is always better than the one before it? Simply amazing... Damn you!

I love the imagery you created with this one, Peter. It was light and airy, yet laden with feelings. Nicely done.
